Engineering and teamwork: Southeast Gateway Project successfully completed

Between July 2023 and April 2025, we worked on the Mexican coast on one of the most important energy projects in the Americas.

The Dos Bocas station in Mexico serves as the final delivery point of the entire Southeast Gateway Project (SGP), which starts approximately 715 km further north in the Gulf of Mexico, where natural gas enters the south-eastern region of the country.

In just 18 days, working day and night at a record speed of 60 meters per day, we completed 1,050 meters of drilling using the Direct Pipe technique using a 56” casing pipe.

We also installed over 1.5 km of 36” pipeline in open sea at depths reaching 19 meters, using the Pull-in technique. For the launch, 20 sidebooms operated in perfect synchrony to lift and push three pipelines weighing over 1,300 tons.

This was a true feat of engineering and teamwork—one that fills us with pride.

The scale of the project is best captured by the numbers:

  • 636 days to complete the work
  • 834,344 man-hours worked, all safely
  • 511 people involved, including 319 local workers
  • Zero incidents
  • 76 equipment
  • 20 sidebooms deployed for the launch
  • 1 metering station (14,800 m²) for the final delivery of gas
  • 81,000 m² of project area, with approximately 70,000 m³ of material moved

Figures that speak to our efficiency, determination, safety, and technological excellence.

Stay tuned! A new video focusing on the restoration of project areas is coming soon.
