We’re taking part in the Gas to Energy Project (GTE), an ambitious project that will bring natural gas from the Atlantic Ocean fields to a power plant and an integrated offshore plant for the treatment and fractionation of natural gas.
We at SICIM will have the task of building a 12” line approximately 25 km long which will connect the onshore receiving station of the offshore pipeline, under construction west of the Demerara River, to the plants to be built southwest of Georgetown.
The works were commissioned by Esso Exploration and Production Guyana Limited, an affiliate of Exxon Mobil Corporation, one of the world's leading oil companies: the completion of the works is scheduled for 2024.
The construction of the infrastructure will allow the country to access a reliable and low-cost source of energy.
It’s a challenge that will see us at the forefront and which confirms how we have always put ourselves on the line even in the toughest and most complex scenarios.
