Not all innovation is visible on the surface.
For over 30 years, IATT – Italian Association for Trenchless Technology, a non‑profit association, has been promoting construction methods that work beneath the surface to protect what truly matters above. At SICIM, we strongly believe in this approach, which is why we have joined IATT, reinforcing our commitment to solutions that combine innovation, safety, and environmental responsibility.
According to the University Consortium for Western Sicily and the Mediterranean Basin, the adoption of trenchless (no‑dig) technologies can result in:
- up to 80% reduction in socio‑environmental costs
- a 70% decrease in site accidents
- 56% energy savings
By supporting IATT, SICIM reaffirms its commitment to avoiding open‑cut excavations and promoting no‑dig technologies as a means to minimize its footprint in the areas where it operates. Fewer excavations also lead to fewer heavy vehicles on site, lower emissions, and a reduced overall impact on ecosystems and local communities, supported by faster site restoration.
This initiative fully aligns with SICIM’s corporate objectives for sustainability, innovation, and responsible infrastructure development.
