SICIM was awarded “Spread 3 & 4A of Trans Mountain Expansion Project (TMEP)” for Trans Mountain Pipeline in Canada, in partnership with the Canadian group Ledcor.
As main contractor, SICIM, will be constructing one of the most challenging parts of the project, i.e. the North Thompson section (200 km of 36” and 42” pipeline). This stretch crosses the Canadian Rockies, a territory characterized by challenging geological conditions and a demanding orography, with steep slopes and narrow passageways within a corridor shared with major communication links, such as an important railway line and Highway 5 which crosses British Columbia all the way to Vancouver an area also characterized by unique environmental features and difficult weather conditions.
The Trans Mountain Expansion Project is of great strategic significance for Canada as it represents an expanded outlet for its resources into world markets with important economic implications for the country.
