Construction of "Cargo Transportation Route for Facilities in North-Eastern Part of the Caspian Sea". Near Shore Excavation 63km to 65.5km.
TenizService LLP plans to develop a cargo transportation route (“CaTRo”) for opening the north-eastern part of the Caspian Sea to deliver modules and other cargo to the Future Growth Project (FGP) to be built in Tengiz Area for Tengizchevroil (TCO) Company . The purpose of the CaTRo is, to enable the cargo delivery to various FGP Areas.
The CaTRo comprises a marine channel ending in a marine vessel turning basin, a Cargo Offloading Facility (COF) and a haul road to transport modules, connecting, among other places, the Cargo Storage Facility (CSF) with Tengiz. The Cargo Storage Facility (CSF) is designed for the storage of cargo and materials and as a support base for cargo transportation operations.
Excavation of the Near Shore Excavation between 63km and 65.5km is to be undertaken in the “dry”; i.e. the area to be excavated is to be surrounded completely by temporary ring dikes including dewatering in order to create a “dry” condition. The area to be excavated shall be protected by temporary ring dikes to prevent the sea from entering the excavation area during construction. Excavated materials from the Near Shore Excavation is to be used in the construction of the temporary ring dikes with the surplus being transported to the designated stockpile areas. The temporary ring dikes need to be connected to the temporary ring dikes of the turning basin, the temporary south ring dike of the turning basin and part of the stockpile area permanent ring dike that provides access to the stockpile will be available for exclusive use as a roadway for the transportation of excavated material from the Near Shore Excavation to the stockpile areas.
