The contract includes the design, development and management of a cutting-edge oily water treatment system, which will enable the sustainable management of water resources and help to increase the production efficiency of the area. The treatment system designed will have a 2,000 m3/h flow rate, and plans for the development phase include around 3.5 million work hours. Employment is expected to peak at approximately 650 people, with 587 local workers already operating on site.
The works have been commissioned by BOC and are expected to end in 2027.
